Maine Fall Vacation promotional web page released

2006.08.28 "For some states the main attraction is foliage. In Maine, foliage is the backdrop for everything else. Fall in love with Maine."

Challenge:
Ocean Properties, Ltd. Approached Stickstone with a desire for a Gateway page to promote 4 of their most popular properties in Coastal Maine for every season of the year. Coming off the heels of Summer, many have already taken their vacations and kids have gone back to school. However, many will come to Maine for the fantastic foliage and beautiful sights and lighthouses found along the Pacific coast. The page needed to communicate this Autumn appeal and be easy to maintain themselves without needing to know how to code HTML.

Solution:
Leaves were used as the backdrop and accent for the page and earth colors were used as the base of the page in combination with fiery reds and yellows to accent the page. In the midst of the Web 2.0 trend, contrasting font proportions in their popular font faces (Lucida & Geneva) in combination with flat colors and low-contrast blends, information is on the page in a simple and clean fashion. To highlight each of the properties, a flash slideshow for each property was created using external XML files for photos and price tags. For the purpose of easy content updates and maintenance, the web page was prepared using Adobe Contribute, a content management system which makes content updates and web site maintenance an absolute breeze.
